--- GAME ---

Butters Pro Skating 2 is the sequel to Beamer's 2002 hit skateboarding game "Butters Pro Skating." Inspired by Matt Kennedy's "Stan Marsh Pro Skateboarding" and based on the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" series, the game sees popular South Park character Butters hitting the streets all over the world in an attempt to become a professional skater. To get recognition before becoming a pro, he will first have to go through 8 levels, completing various goals.

Each level in Butters Pro Skating 2 has 10 goals. Firstly, there are the three scoring goals - High Score, Pro Score and MAD Score, in which you must earn a certain score in the two minutes you have to skate. Secondly, there will always be at least three goals where you must find certain things - the SKATE letters, the hidden tape, and usually some other object relative to the level. There will also be a goal that requires you to do a certain trick over a certain object, and a certain grind on a certain surface (these are specified in the goal briefings, though it's up to you to find them). Finally, there will be a miscellaneous goal relative to the level, and a "Complete all Goals" goal - which will reward you with an extra goal in your completed goal count if you can do all 9 in one level.

Butters Pro Skating 2 was started in 2002, however, was soon cancelled due to the fact that it had a bug known infamously as "The grind bug," which would often cause Butters to disappear completely when going to grind or ending a grind. Nobody could pinpoint why it was occuring, and production was shut down when it became too frequently of a recurring problem. However, the cause was later pinpointed (it was game slowdown due to too many objects being in a level at once, and was fixed by removing sparks from the grinds and toning down the blood) and production on the game was resarted in late 2005... quite a long period of time! It was released in late January of 2006 after being previewed in online magazine South Park Gaming Bi-Monthly earlier that month.

--- KNOWN BUGS, ERRORS & PROBLEMS ---

Despite having fixed the main problem in Butters Pro Skating 2, the game is far from perfect. Here are some bugs you may encounter while playing the game, and how to possibly avoid/fix them:

MULTIPLE BUTTERS:
When performing multiple grinds in the period of a very short amount of time, Butters may multiply, and you'll have several Butters' in the level. This is normally a self-inflicted bug, so unless you try to make it happen, it probably won't happen. Just don't perform more than one grind at once - and mashing down several grind buttons while grinding is a strict no-no. If you encounter this problem, it is highly recommended that you end your session.

THE GRIND BUG:
As mentioned in section 1, the grind bug caused Butters to disappear while grinding. Since supposedly having fixed the bug, nobody has come across it yet, though I still can't give you a 100% guarantee that it's gone. So, if Butters does happen to disappear when executing or ending a grind, try pressing Home - it MAY bring Butters back at the start of the level. If not, press End to end your session. It is recommended that you close the game and then re-open it if this bug occurs, though don't worry, there's still no guarantee that the bug even exists anymore, and if it does happen to you, it will be a VERY rare occurance.

BUTTERS GETS STUCK:
If you bail on a trick (don't finish it in time and end up hurting yourself), Butters will fall backwards. However, if he falls backwards onto an object, there's a small chance he'll get stuck to this object and not be able to move. If this happens, try to wriggle out of it by doing more tricks, moving left and right and jumping. If you cannot get out of it, you'll have to end your session and restart the level.

BUTTERS WON'T GRIND:
Sometimes, even when holding down a grind button, Butters won't grind on the rail. This isn't a bug or anything, but I figured I'd put it in here just incase people were wondering why not. Usually, Butters only won't grind if you're pressing one of the arrow keys at the time of it (when doing this, the game recognises that as movement as so will think that you DON'T want to land on the rail). At other times, Butters won't grind if you press the grind button too slowly, or if you land on the rail at an innappropriate angle. Also, remember that you have to hold the grind button down, not just press it. If you are having trouble executing a grind - change how you go about doing it. Remember, grinds aren't exactly the easiest thing to pull off, but you need to use them if you want to reach places in the level and pass most goals, so it is recommended that you practice grinding if you can't immediately pull it off.
